My name is Ivor Coward, I am English, and I have lived in the province of Venice since 1989. I am fortunate enough to combine my work as a translator with the role, since 2000, of British Honorary Consul in North East Italy, blending my passion for communicating and being in contact with different people and circumstances.
Having the honour of representing my country and of helping citizens - both in times of joy and difficulty - has brought many changes and much growth, an evolution that led me to wish to become a non-traditional celebrant. In 2013, a colleague Honorary Consul from another region asked me to celebrate a wedding on his behalf in Venice, in English. My curiosity and desire continued to grow and, in 2025, I decided to study to earn my "Corso Per Celebranti" diploma. I am thus a "new celebrant, with experience"!
I know that ceremonies must be unique, and that celebrants must play a key role in such uniqueness. I aspire not to be an entertainer or an actor; rather, I wish to be an authentic listener, and a sensitive conveyer of the heart of every ceremony. I aspire to help create the right content and ritual moments that fit your wishes so that the ceremony will exceed your expectations!

Avere l'onore di rappresentare il mio Paese e di aiutare i cittadini, sia nei momenti felici che in quelli di difficolta', ha portato molti cambiamenti e una grande crescita, un'evoluzione che mi ha spinto a voler diventare un celebrante laico. Nel 2013, un collega Console Onorario di un'altra regione mi ha chiesto di celebrare un matrimonio per suo conto a Venezia, in lingua inglese. La mia curiosita' e il mio desiderio hanno continuato a crescere e, nel 2025, ho deciso di studiare per ottenere il diploma del "Corso Per Celebranti". Eccomi quindi un "nuovo celebrante, con esperienza"!
So che le cerimonie devono essere uniche e che chi le celebra deve avere un ruolo chiave in questa unicita'. Non ambisco a essere un intrattenitore o un attore, quanto piuttosto un ascoltatore autentico, e un mediatore attento al messaggio chiave di ogni cerimonia. Il mio obiettivo e' contribuire a creare i contenuti e i momenti rituali piu' adatti ai vostri desideri affinche' la cerimonia superi le aspettative!
