celebrant
Lucia Clerici Whitney
As a humanist I believe in making the most of the life we have, and in the importance of celebrating significant passages in life, so if you are looking for a unique, bespoke ceremony - and live in the UK (Derbyshire, Midlands, Yorkshire) or Italy - please feel free to contact me by email, text or phone.
It is an honour and a privilege to create meaningful and personal ceremonies for people who identify as non-religious; in such ceremonies, whether a funeral, an internment of ashes, a memorial service, a wedding or naming ceremony, you, and your loved ones, will be at the heart of every decision. My aim is to co-produce a personal, inclusive, warm, joyful and compassionate ceremony.
I am bilingual (English and Italian) and hold dual citizenship: I was born in Florence (Italy) and moved to the UK over thirty years ago. I had a long and fulfilling professional career as a Consultant Psychiatrist and therapist in the NHS; on approaching retirement, I decided to continue to use and develop my skills by training and volunteering as a Non-Religious Pastoral Carer, supporting people at critical times in their lives. I recently completed a Masters in Existential and Humanist Pastoral Care, including full training in Humanist Ceremonies (2022), having already completed an equivalent training in Italy with Cerimonie Uniche in 2020.
